Hurricane Alex brings floods to north-east Mexico

    July 2, 2010

Hurricane Alex is the first tropical storm to form in the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season. It slowly developed and formed in the Caribbean Sea. It is the first hurricane appeared on the month of June since 1995. This hurricane caused flooding along the Gulf of Mexico. The city of Monterrey is under deep water because of the torrential rains that the hurricane Alex brought. At least two people lost their lives as hurricane Alex hit their place. Santa Catarina river in Mexico is usually dry but when Alex came, it caused this river and major highways under deep flooding. A number of people in coastal areas are warned for a possible evacuation in a higher ground in order to survive before the hurricane hit. The electricity and phone lines were affected. The U.S state of Texas is prepared for a possible direct hit of hurricane Alex. That is the lesson that most people get when a tragic situation happens, to be prepared and alert at all times.
