    Hurricane Fred Is Second Major Storm of 2009

    Hurricane Fred is the second major storm of 2009 in United States of America. It has a sustained winds of 120 miles per hour. The hurricane Fred is quickly moving northward while the temperature of the underlying water should drop. At first, Hurricane Fred is classified under the Category 1 hurricane with a maximum sustained winds of at least 75 miles per hour. Then, it reaches in the category 3 hurricanes. After a couples of days, Hurricane attained its Category 2 position. According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, “It is about 1,190 kilometers west of the Cape Verde Islands and it is moving towards north at 2 kilometers per hour with a sustained wind of 128 kilometers per hour.” Dry air and shearing winds were the reasons why Hurricane Fred got weaken until it classified into a tropical depression. The U.S. oil and gas operations were not effected. The US government is always preparing for a possible attack of hurricanes. It is always better to be ready and alert at all times. Do not panic.
